ISE wants to share our vision of PASSENGER space travel – for work and tourism. Our intent is to build a new foundation of design philosophy and technology that supports a future of commercial ‘spacelines’, taking people to space every day.

People first went into space 62 years ago and to the moon 55 years ago. There are people in space right now (generally 10-15 these days) on space stations. People are becoming ‘astronauts’ on Blue Origin, SpaceX and Virgin Galactic. Those are still fairly infrequent flights. People may go to Mars or there may be 100’s of AI driven, laser guns in orbit before YOU can experience the Earth from 60 miles up.
Ion Space Expeditions (ISE) doesn’t think this is right. We have been considering how to make space access MORE accessible for many years. Our mission statement: “Taking people to space every day.” is both a desired objective and a business ‘requirement’. To take people to space every day we MUST take people to space every day. Basic marketing and business principles tells us that to drive down price we must have volume – or the other way round – if we have volume we can drive down price. Today we have neither – so where to start?
There are many aspects to consider. The website will be a ‘work-in-progress’ as we explore and learn more about the challenges and benefits of taking people to space every day.
